What eras of music do The Snapbacks cover?
Everything from the 1950s right to the present day! We focus on funk, soul, Motown, disco, and RnB styles, but our repertoire covers all eras and has a range to suit all occasions.
Love your classic Motown? So do we! Want to hear 90s classics like Lauryn Hill and TLC? We've got 'em. Want to throw in a bit of RAYE and Olivia Dean? No problem!
Whatever your tastes, we can put together a show that will keep everyone up dancing and singing along.
Do I need to hire any equipment to have The Snapbacks at my event?
The Snapbacks come fully self-contained with all the sound and lighting equipment necessary to put on a show for up to 400 guests. We perform at larger events too, but please contact us first if you're estimating an event larger than 400 guests.
What will the band need at the venue?
The band will need access to a minimum of two mains power sockets and a minimum space of 4 x 3 metres. Make sure you leave plenty of room for both the band and your guests, because they will definitely be getting their boogie on!
We will discuss the finer details with you during the booking process, but other things to think about include:
- Access from the parking area to the stage (as we have lots of heavy equipment to bring in)
- A private space for the band to get changed and rest between sets
- Storage near the stage for empty cases
How far will The Snapbacks travel to perform?
The Snapbacks perform across the UK as standard. We can also facilitate overseas performances with sufficient notice.
How long is the show?
The standard Snapbacks show is two 1-hour long sets of live music, with our free DJ service inbetween sets.
In our experience, this is the best combination to get people up dancing and keep the party going!
If needed, the performance can be split into three shorter sets, but you may find each set comes to an end just as people are reaching the dancefloor.
Can you DJ afterwards or will I have to hire a DJ as well?
Don't worry, we've got it covered. Our DJ service is available for a small additional fee after the end of our show.

How much time do The Snapbacks take to set up?
To set up our fully self-contained show, it takes approximately 90 minutes from accessing the space to being ready to perform.
It is important to note this time cannot be shortened, even if your event is running late. The Snapbacks are a premier live band with pro-level sound and lighting equipment. This must be set up and configured for each individual venue to ensure only the highest quality experience for our audiences.
If we are performing at an event where sound and/or lighting is already provided (such as a festival or theatre) then this time will be considerably shorter.
What will The Snapbacks wear when they perform?
As funk/soul/Motown obsessives, we have a carefully-curated wardrobe packed full of 60s and 70s-inspired outfits for wearing on stage.
If your event has a specific dress code you would like the band to adhere to, please let us know when booking. However, most people are used to the band dressing a little...differently to the guests!
Can I choose the setlist for my event?
If you have a handful of funk-soul favourites that you just need to hear, then tell us and we will make sure we play them!
However, we usually advise against writing a whole setlist in advance of your event, as we need to be ready to 'read the room' on the night. We have built up decades of experience of live events and often adjust our sets on-the-fly to make sure we keep the dancefloor bouncing.
My venue has a sound limiter, can I still book The Snapbacks?
We have extensive experience playing at venues with sound limiters, as they have simply become a fact of modern live music in many places.
If you have booked a venue with a sound limiter, we will need the technical details in advance of your event. If you're not sure of these, we are happy to liaise with the venue on your behalf to get the relevant information.
My event/venue requires insurance and/or documentation, do you have these?
We have public liability insurance (PLI) up to a value of £10m, which is the standard requested by most venues.
All of our equipment is PAT tested anually.
If your event requires anything else, please let us know...we've probably dealt with it before!
